Online Card-sorting study
The book "Information Architecture for the World Wide Web" defines Card Sorting as a technique that 'can provide insight into users’ mental models, illuminating the way that they often tacitly group, sort and label tasks and content in their own mind.
UserZoom has its own propietary online Card Sorting tool to rapidly execute Card Sorting exercises over large groups of users in a brief and cost-efficient manner.
It has been designed to find patterns in how 'real users' would expect to find content, how they 'mentally' organize information and how they name or describe certain groups of information items.
Key benefits
- Test with large groups of users (we recommend 50)
- Up to 100 items to sort out & up to 12 categories to group
- Includes categorization criteria (“why do you group these items like this?”)
- Allows for a combination of CS exercises and online questionnaire tools, for detailed taxonomy analysis
- Compatible with SPSS and other tools
