Unmoderated remote user experience testing
Basic definition and key benefits
- It's a method in which no face-to-face moderation is needed, so it's very cost-effective.
- Used to evaluate and quantify usability and user experience, since we tests hundreds of users.
- Our software ‘acts as the moderator’, automatically gathering UX data with a simple browser plug-in.
- A test script is predefined by a UX consultant before users are invited to participate.
- Hundreds of users from geographically spread locations can participate simultaneously in their natural context.

We know users' intent and why they do what they do
Since we are evaluating usability and user experience, our tests are task-based (scenario-based analysis). We ask users to complete tasks and then we analyze results per specific task.
Before, during and after each task, we launch a specific questionnaire depending on the users’ behavior (success or failure). Therefore, we know the user’s intent and we know why users do what they do.
